Witch Hazel Dried Bark
This sustainably Appalachian wildcrafted, hand-harvested witch hazel bark (Hamamelis virginiana) comes from the famously drying and astringent medicinal tree.* This herb can be used as a tea, infusion, or decoction, extracted in water for topical use as a wash or poultice, extracted in alcohol to use as a spray, or in numerous other ways. Try it as a homemade facial toner, a bug bite tonic, a wound care spray, or a unique concoction of your own invention!
How to Use:
To make a decoction, place 2-4 tablespoons of the dried herb in a pot and fill with water, making sure to cover the herb well. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered for 30 minutes to two hours. Let sit overnight, then strain, and refrigerate, use, or preserve.
